The champion Manchester City hosts Tottenham Hotspur in a game from the second round of the English Premier League

The champion Manchester City hosts Tottenham Hotspur in a game from the second round of the English Premier League. This clash is going to be played at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s Man City had the best possible start of the new campaign. The Cityzens travelled to London to face West Ham United and achieved a spectacular 5-0 win at the London Stadium. The champions dominated the game and proved to everyone that they are in impressive form in the beginning of the season. Clearly Guardiola did a terrific job with his players during the summer break.

One of City’s leaders Raheem Sterling scored a hattrick for his team, continuing to impress after his amazing previous season. Gabriel Jesus also scored his first goal for the season, while Sergio Aguero added one more from a penalty kick. Meanwhile the club’s record signing Rodri made his official debut, playing a full game in the midfield.

Tottenham on the other hand had a difficult, but successful home game against Aston Villa last weekend. Spurs achieved a 3-1 win at home, but until the 73th minute they were a goal behind.

John McGinn opened the score for Aston Villa after just nine minutes of playing. For a big period of time, Tottenham had serious difficulties to break Villa’s defense and to equalise. This eventually happened in the 73th minute, when the new signing Tanguy NDombele scored his first goal for the club.

The game was going for a draw, until Harry Kane didn’t show up. Spurs’ main striker scored a quick brace in the last few minutes of the match, clinching the win for the home side.

You can be sure that Manchester City and Tottenham will offer us an amazing game on Saturday. City will have the advantage to play at home, but it’s always difficult against a classy team like Spurs.
