Slavia Praha – Barcelona

Hoping that Borussia Dortmund won’t win in Milan against Inter, Barcelona will look for the first place in Group F when they visit Slavia Praha in the Champions League. Let’s discuss this fixture at the Sinobo Stadium in beautiful Prague.

Two teams are leading the standings in Group F at the moment. Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona have four points each, being early favourites to reach the 1/8-finals. But there’s enough time for many things to change.

After a rocky start of the season, it seems that Barca are starting to find themselves and get in a proper rhythm. Los Cules are in a run of five consecutive wins in all competitions. In their last game they scored three goals against Eibar, with Antoine Griezmann, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi showing that they can be a very good offensive trident.

It remains to be seen if Ernesto Valverde is once again going to pick his MSG trident for this game in Prague. Another option for him is to pick Ousmane Dembele among the starters. The Frenchman is suspended in La Liga, so putting him on the pitch in the Champions League is a good way to rotate the squad.

For Slavia Praha this is going to be a very tough game, there’s no doubt about that. The Czech team is having just one point won at the moment, achieved during the visit to Inter Milan. Soon after this Slavia hosted Borussia Dortmund at home, but they got bettered by the German powerhouse.

In conclusion we can say that Slavia Praha are obviously in the position of being a huge underdog against Barcelona. You can’t doubt the Catalans’ motivation here, because Barca are aware that they must win in order to get closer to the first place. You can be sure that Los Cules will only be happy with the three points here.
