Last season RB Leipzig reached the 1/2-finals of the Champions League, so now they are eager to at least repeat this performance. Yes – it’s never easy in this competition, but Leipzig are one of the best teams in Germany at the moment. They proved it in the group stage as well when they successfully qualified for the knockout phase.

At this moment we find Julian Nagelsmann’s team in a solid shape. The Red Bulls are enjoying a run of four consecutive wins in all competitions in their last four matches. During the weekend they hosted Augsburg at home and celebrated a 2-1 win. Dani Olmo from a penalty kick and Christopher Nkunku scored for the hosts in the first half.

Last season Liverpool were title holders in the Champions League, but they got eliminated in the 1/8-finals. That’s why the 2019 champions are now motivated more than ever to do a better performance.

Liverpool’s problems are related to their current shape. Jurgen Klopp’s team in some kind of a crisis at the moment. The Reds lost their last three matches in the Premier League and that’s a rare thing to see. But we guess there are just too many injured players in the team, especially in defense. In their last game Liverpool faced Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, but suffered a 1-3 defeat.

That’s our preview for the Champions League 1/8-finals game between RB Leipzig and Liverpool at the Red Bull Arena. We believe that Liverpool’s shaky form is giving Leipzig some good chances here. Let’s see if they can use it.
