Euro 2020 : Slovakia – Spain

We are heading to Estadio Olimpico de Sevilla where Spain will be looking for a first win in Group E of the Euro 2020. They will face Slovakia in a “must-win” game for them. Let’s preview it.

Spain’s head coach Luis Enrique is one of the most criticised men in the country right now. The reason for this is the way La Roja performs at the European Championship so far. Just one goal scored for two matches played and two draws – that’s Spain’s record so far. If they don’t win against Slovakia the Spaniards will say “goodbye” to the Euro. This would be a real disaster.

Few days ago Spain made their second draw in Group E. La Roja faced Poland in Sevilla, but only got a point after a 1-1 draw. Alvaro Morata scored for Spain while Gerard Moreno missed a penalty kick. At the same time Robert Lewandowski’s goal secured a point for Poland.

Now Enrique must make some changes again in order to bring some fresh ideas to his team. Players like Cesar Azpilicueta, Thiago Alcantara and Adama Traore could help here. These three didn’t play a single minute against Poland.

Slovakia are are also very close to reaching the 1/8-finals of the European Championship. The Falcons are second in the group with 3 points won so far, but they need to make one final push against Spain. In their previous game the Falcons faced Sweden, but in the 77th minute conceded a penalty kick and this led to their defeat in Saint-Petersburg. It was disappointing for them to lose in such a manner.

That’s our preview for the Euro 2020 clash between Spain and Slovakia from Group E. Both teams have chances to reach the knockout phase of the competition, but only if they make a positive result here.
