Australia faces Peru in a match from Group C of the FIFA World Cup. These two teams will meet at the Olimpiyskiy Stadium in the city of Sochi. Australia are the team which have a theoritecal chance to reach the 1/8-finals, while Peru are already eliminated from the competition. But they still can win and take the third place in the final standings of the group.

Australia started their participation at the World Cup with a loss against France, which was followed by a 1-1 draw against Denmark. Right now the Soceroos are in a situation in which it would be difficult for them to qualify for the next round. But not impossibe. In order to reach the next phase of tournament, Australia have to hope that Denmark will suffer a defeat against France. In same time, the Australians must beat Peru. It’s a long shot, but they do not have any other option, but to try to do it.

For Peru it has been a dissapointing World Cup so far. Los Incas returned to the competition after a long period of absence, but things are not going great for them. So far Peru have suffered two 0-1 defeats against Denmark and France. They are still without a point and without a goal being scored.

Both managers have some problems before the clash in Sochi. Australia’s Andrew Nabbout is missing the match because of a dislocated shoulder. He recieved the injury during the 1-1 draw against Denmark.

Meanwhile Peru’s experienced striker Jefferson Farfan is out for the match with an injury he recieved during training. The Lokomotiv Moscow striker is an important part of the Peru’s squad, but he was unlucky to be injured during one of the team’s training sessions.

This is going to be the first game ever between Australian and Peru in history so far. In three matches played against South American teams so far, Australia have won just one point and they have scored just one goal. Meanwhile Peru will face a team from Oceania for a first time in their history.

Against Denmark Australia have stopped their negative run of four consecutive defeats at the World Cup. It’s a curious fact that their last three goals in the competition were scored from penalty kicks. Both goals for Australia during this World Cup were scored by Mile Jedinak from the spot.

Australia know that they need to win this, so maybe they will be a bit nervous in this match. Although their hopes of qualification are pretty slim, they are existent, so they have to try. Peru on the other hand will play for their own honour. We are sure that there will be enough free spaces for the Peruvian team to operate with. If they make a few good counter-attacks, this could mean some serious problems for the Aussies. Generally speaking, we see these two teams as pretty even in terms of quality. The only difference is that one of them still have chances to progress.

We are heading to the Olympiyskiy Stadion Fisht in the city of Sochi, where the world champion Germany will face Sweden in a match from Group F of the World Cup. Let’s have a look at this match, which is important for both teams, but in different ways.

A huge upset. That’s how we can describe the opening game of the German team in Russia. Being a huge favourite for the win, the Mannschaft started with a loss against Mexico. The Aztecs’ punished their opponent with a brilliant counter-attack during the first half. Germany tried to fight back, but despite having the ball in most of the time, they were unable to beat the Mexican defense and the goalkeeper Ochoa.

Now Germany are in a situation where they are obligated to win their next game. A second consecutive defeat will kick them out from the tournament and this is going to be a disaster for the world champion. The draw is also not a good option, because just one point after two games played would be hardly enough to progress. They need the win.

Sweden on the other hand started the World Cup with a win, beating the Korea Republic. The Scandinavians surprised a lot of people with beating Italy during the playoffs for qualification for the World Cup. If they manage to kick out Germany of the competition as well, this is going to be a huge year for Swedish football. They know that even the draw would be an excellent result against Germany, because it would put them in a great position to progress.

It’s expected that Germany’s manager Joachim Low will make some changes after the fiasco against Mexico. Players like Nicklas Sule, Jonas Hector, Ilkay Gundogan, Marco Reus and Mario Gomez could return to the starting line-up of the Mannschaft. Bayer Leverkusen’s Julian Brandt is another exciting option Low could use for the game. But one thing is sure – it’d be really surprising if he picks the same starting eleven from the match against the Mexicans.

Sweden do not have any reason to make a change after the first game. After all, they managed to win, which shows that Janne Andersson’s pick of starting eleven was good. But every opponent and every approach is different, so it’s completely logical if Andersson makes some tactical changes against the world champion.

These two teams have faced each other 36 times so far. Far from surprising, Germany have a better head-to-head record – 15 wins for them. Sweden have won 12 times. 9 times the matches between these two countries have ended with a draw.

This is our take on the World Cup clash between Germany and Sweden from Group F. Germany are playing to remain in the tournament, while Sweden would like to make a huge step towards the 1/8-finals. This is a really crucial game in this group, so we can’t wait to see what happens. Just imagine if Germany leaves the competition after this clash. Nobody would have expected that, right?

Portugal and Spain meet each other in the big derby of Group B of the FIFA World Cup in Russia. This match is going to be played on Saturday night in the city of Sochi. Here are our betting revews for this clash.

Portugal are the current European champions. Selecao surprised a lot of people by winning their first major trophy two years ago in France. They beat the host of the tournament in the final and celebrated their first title from a big competition.

Now – two years later, Portugal are motivated to repeat this performance at the World Cup as well. They have a talented squad, led by the experienced manager Fernando Santos. Of course, Cristiano Ronaldo is the main man here. Real Madrid’s star is capable to win any game by himself and he’s one of the finest players in the history of the game.

But Ronaldo is not everything Portugal have. They also have some great players like Bernardo Silva, Joao Moutinho, Andre Silva and Goncalo Guedes. On the other hand, defenders like Pepe and Bruno Alves are bringing a lot of experience for the team.

Spain on the other hand are among the big favourites to win the World Cup, but something shocking happened in their camp. Just one day before the start of the tournament, their manager Julen Lopetegui was sacked. The reason for this was the fact that Lopetegui was appointed as the new coach of Real Madrid, even before the World Cup began.

Lopetegui was replaced by the legendary Fernando Hierro, who has to lead the team in this difficult situation. The big question is – how Spain are going to react to this? For sure this is a very complicated situation.

These are our betting reviews for the World Cup game between Portugal and Spain in Group B. Good luck!

It’s time for the French Ligue 1 to end again. On Saturday we will see the last 38th round being played. One of the most interesting games in this 38th round is the match between Olympique Lyonnais and Nice.

This is a crucial game for Lyonnais. They are third with 75 points, but being just one point ahead of the 4th Olympique Marseille. Finishing in the Top 3 is very important, because these are the places which guarantee a Champions League qualification.

In the same time Olympique Marseille hosts Amiens SC. Marseille will try to win this game and hope that Lyonnais will make a wrong step against Nice.

Lyonnais on the other hand know that a win against Nice will gurantee them a finish in the Top 3. They could even finish 2nd in the final standings, but only if Monaco make a mistake against Troyes.

Right now Olympique Lyonnais have a record of 22 wins, 9 draws and 6 defeats. If they manage to finish in the Top 3, this would be a successful season for them. And they will achieve their main goal – to return to the Champions League.

Nice on the other hand did worst than they did last season. Just 12 months ago Nice finished 3rd in Ligue 1 and qualify for the Champions League playoffs. But now their level decreased and they are currently 6th in Ligue 1 with 54 points. Their record in the league shows 15 wins, 9 draws and 13 defeats. In their last five games Nice won twice, made two draws and suffered one defeat against Olympique Marseille at the Stade Velodrome.

This is our examination of the Ligue 1 game between Olympique Lyonnais and Nice. This game is far more important for the home team than it is for Nice. Let’s see what’s going to happen.

Borussia M’gladbach welcomes Freiburg in a match from the 33th round of the German Bundesliga.

Borussia M’gladbach are 9th in the Bundesliga with 44 points won so far. They still have chances even for a Top 6 finish, being just 3 points behind the 6th RB Leipzig. If they win their both games until the end of the season, nobody knows what’s going to happen.

Right now M’gladbach have a record of 12 wins, 8 draws and 12 defeats. In their last five games they won twice, made two draws and suffered one defeat. In the previous round Borussia M’gladbach made a 1-1 draw during the visit to Schalke 04. Before this Borussia celebrated a 3-0 win over Wolfsburg at home.

In the beginning of the season Borussia M’gladbach had the ambition to chase a place among the first six teams in the league, which would have granted them a participation in the European competitions. They still have chances to do it, of course, but these chance are more theoretical than real. In other words, it was not the best possible season for Borussia M’gladbach. We can say that.

Freiburg on the other hand are struggling. They are 15th in the league standings with 33 points won so far – just 3 points above the 16th Wolfsburg and the relegation playoff zone. Freiburg still have to do well in order to survive.

Right now Freiburg have a record of 7 wins, 12 draws and 13 defeats. In their last five games Freiburg won once against Koln, but before that they suffered four consecutive defeats. It tells us that they are not in a very good form at the moment.

These are our thoughts on the Bundesliga game between Borussia M’gladbach and Freiburg. Whatever you have decided, we wish you a good luck.

Torino welcomes Lazio in a match from the 35th round of the Italian Serie A. Here is our examination of this game in the city of Turin.

Torino are 10th in the Serie A standings with 47 points. Since the beginning of the season, the Bulls have a record of 11 wins, 14 draws and 9 defeats. In their last five games Toro won twice, made two draws and suffered one defeat from the hands of Atalanta. This happened in the previous round of the league.

Torino started the season with the ambitions to reach the European competitions, but it seems that they are not ready for that. Now they are going to finish the season in the middle of the table, but this is not much bad either.

Lazio are having much higher goals at the moment. The Eagles are 4th in the Serie A standings with 67 points, continuing their fight for a Champions League qualification. So far Lazio have a record of 20 wins, 7 draws and 7 losses. In their last five games they are unbeaten and effective – three wins and two draws. In the previous round Lazio enjoyed a thrilling 4-0 win at home against Sampdoria.

This match showed to everyone that Lazio won’t stop in their fight for a Top 4 finish. They have a very solid squad, which is ready to return to the Champions League. It has been awhile since Lazio played in this competition, so no doubt this is the big goal in front of them at the moment.

Torino on the other hand will have to wait for next season, before trying again to reach the Europa League at least. They have a good squad, but just not good enough.

These are our thoughts about the Serie A match between Torino and Lazio.

RB Leipzig face Hoffenheim in a match from the 31th round of the German Bundesliga.

RB Leipzig are currently 5th in the Bundesliga with 47 points. Last season they managed to qualify for the Champions League, but now they can’t be sure about this. Leipzig are currently on 4 points behind the 4th Borussia Dortmund, so there’s a big chance of them to miss out on the Champions League.

But of course, if they want to keep their chances, they must win every game until the end of the season.

Right now RB Leipzig have a record of 13 wins, 8 draws and 9 defeats. In their last five matches they won twice, made two draws and lost once. This lack of consistency would be the main reason for them to be out of the Top 4 at the end of the season.

Last year RB Leipzig were much more consistent in the league, which allowed them to finish 2nd in the Bundesliga. But now things are a little bit different for them, although they remain one of the strongest teams in Germany at this moment.

Hoffenheim on the other hand are 6th in the Bundesliga, being on just one point behind RB Leipzig. For them this is a chance to improve their position in the league and to move up to 5th place.

RIght now Hoffe have 46 points and a record of 12 wins, 10 draws and 8 defeats. In their last five games they are unbeaten – three wins and two draws. For sure right now they are looking a little bit better than RB Leipzig in terms of current form, that’s for sure.

This shall be an interesting clash between RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim. Two of the best German teams are facing each other in Leipzig. Let’s see what’s going to happen!

Eintracht Frankfurt hosts Hoffenheim in a game from the 29th round of the German Bundesliga.

Eintracht are 6th in the Bundesliga standings with 45 points won so far. Their record in the league shows 13 wins, 6 draws and 9 losses. In their last five games the club from Frankfurt won twice and suffered three defeats, including against Werder Bremen in the previous round.

Despite of being 6th, Eintracht Frankfurt still have a very solid chance to play in the Champions League next season. Right now they are just one point behind the 4th RB Leipzig, so a win against Hoffe could move them back to the Top 4. For this club it’d be an amazing achievement to qualify for the Champions League.

Hoffenheim on the other hand are 7th in the Bundesliga standings with 42 points, trailing on just three points behind their next opponent. Even Hoffenheim still have chances to qualify for the Champions League, if they make a really strong run until the end of the season.

Hoffe’s record in the league so far shows 11 wins, 9 draws and 8 losses. In their last five games they are unbeaten – three wins and two draws. In their last game they achieved a solid 6-0 win against Koln at home. Can they continue with their good performance in Frankfurt as well?

The Top 4 fight in the Bundesliga this season is very interesting. Bayern Munich is once again above everyone else, but after them it’s a very close fight for a Champions League qualification. We shall expect some really great matches until the end of the season. And this is one of them.

Both Eintracht Frankfurt and Hoffenheim have chances to qualify for the Champions League. But if they want to do it, they must win as much matches as possible.

Academico Viseu welcomes Famalicão in a match from the 30th round of the Portuguese Segunda Liga.

Academico are currently 7th in the Segunda Liga standings with 47 points won so far. They have a record of 12 wins, 11 draws and 6 losses. In their last five games Academico won twice, made two draws and suffered one defeat against UD Oliveirense.

They started the campaign with the hope of reaching a promotion to the Primeira Liga, but now it’s a complicated task, because many other teams want the same. Academico Viseu are currently on 6 points behind the 2nd Penafiel, but with a game in hand. This means that if they win against Famalicão, Academico Viseu will get close to just 3 points to the 2nd Penafiel.

Famalicão on the other hand are 11th in the Segunda Liga standings with 40 points won so far. They have a record of 11 wins, 7 draws and 11 defeats since the beginning of the season. In their last five games Famalicão won twice, suffered two defeats and made one draw – against Vitoria Guimaraes in the last round.

It’s clear now that Famalicão won’t be able to chase a promotion to the Primeira Liga. Most likely they will finish their season in the middle of the table, which is not bad. At least they are pretty safe from relegation. Of course, they’d be happy to fight for something more, but right now they do not have the tools to do that.

Academico Viseu are the clear favourite against Famalicão in this one. They are a team, which finds for promotion. They have a bigger quality and the advantage to play at home. For Academico Viseu it’s going to be a huge dissapointment, if they don’t win the whole three points against Famalicão at home.

Lugano hosts Young Boys in a match from the 24th round of the Swiss Super League. Let’s have a look at this game.

Lugano are currently 5th in the Super League with 31 points won. They have a record of 9 wins, 4 draws and 10 defeats since the beginning of the season. In their last five games Lugano won four consecutive times, but their great run ended with a 0-3 loss during the visit to St. Gallen. Right now Lugano are just two points behind the 3rd St. Gallen, so they have every chance to finish in the Top 3 of the Swiss league. Qualifying for Europa League is Lugano’s big goal at this moment.

Meanwhile Young Boys are having a fantastic season so far. They are leaders in the Super League with 11 points advantage in front of the champion Basel, although with a game more on their account.

It’s been awhile since someone else than Basel won the title in the Swiss league. Nobody expected that this could happen anytime soon, but now Young Boys are on the brink to do something amazing.

Right now Young Boys have 52 points won and a record of 16 wins, 4 draws and 3 defeats. In their last five games they have five wins, which proves that they are more than ready to be crowned as champions.

If Young Boys win the title in the Super League, this would be their first triumph since 1986. They have been crowned 11 times as champions of Switzerland so far and now they are marching on towards their 12th title.

It’s clear that Young Boys are the favourite here, but be careful with Lugano. How we said, their goal is to qualify for the European competitions and they are not that far away from achieving it.

Lokomotiv Moscow hosts Nice in a second leg match from the 1/16-finals of the Europa League. Let’s have a look at this clash in the Russian capital.

Lokomotiv have the advantage here after a terrific 3-2 win in the first game in Nice. The Russian side was down to 0-2, because of the goals scored by Mario Balotelli. With such an advantage, Nice probably thought that their job is done. But they didn’t know what’s about to come.

The Portuguese star Manuel Fernandes scored an amazing hattrick for Lokomotiv, which led to a 2-3 win for his team. And now Lokomotiv are the huge favourite to qualify for the 1/8-finals of the competition.

It was really shocking thing to see. It looked like Nice are dominating the game and Balotelli is on fire. But what Manuel Fernandes did, certainly surprised everyone.

Now Nice have a really tough task here. They are down to one goal and they conceded three away goals in the first leg. This means that they have to win with at least two goals margin in Moscow. And it doesn’t sound easy at all.

Last season was great for Nice, because the team managed to finish in the Top 3 and to qualify for the Champions League. But now Lucien Favre’s team is not performing as strong as they could. Right now Nice are 9th in the Ligue 1 standings and there’s a big chance to see them missing European participation next season.

Meanwhile Lokomotiv Moscow are doing much better job in the Russian Premier League. Lokomotiv are currently on the top of the standings, having 8 points advantage in front of Zenit. They are the number one contender for the title right now and if they continue like this, most surely they are going to win it.

Copenhagen hosts Atletico Madrid in a match from the 1/16-finals of the Europa League. Let’s have a look at this match and the most important stats before it.

Copenhagen reached the Europa League 1/16-finals after finishing second in Group F of the competition. The Danish team was in the company of Lokomotiv Moscow, Sheriff and Zlin, finishing 2nd after the Russians. Copenhagen won 9 points in this group and finished with a record of 2 wins, 3 draws and one loss.

Meanwhile Atletico Madrid suffered a heavy blow in the Champions League, being unable to progress to the 1/8-finals. Diego Simeone’s team was in the company of Chelsea, Roma and Qarabag, finishing third in this group with just 7 points won. Atletico won just one game in this group – against Roma, while the two draws against Qarabag were really dissapointing.

In the Danish Superliga Copenhagen are currently 4th, which is a serious dissapointment for the champions. They have 29 points won so far and they are trailing on 18 points behind the leader Midtjylland. This is surprising, because Copenhagen are usually the team which dominates the league. But now it’s a different deal for them.

In the same time Atletico Madrid are 2nd in the Spanish La Liga. The Rojiblancos have 52 points won, trailing on 7 points behind the leader Barcelona. In their last five matches Atletico won four times and made one draw, which is a sign that they are in a good shape at this moment.

We believe that Atletico Madrid would want to reach the final of Europa League, so they are going to be very serious about eliminating Copenhagen. We don’t think that the Danish team have big chances to progress, but they could at least look for a positive result in the first leg.

Gent hosts Lokeren in a match from the 22th round of the Belgian First Division A. The game is going to be played on Sunday night in Gent.

Gent are 5th in the First Division A standing since the start of the new season. They have 32 points and a record of 9 wins, 5 draws and 7 defeats. In their last five matches they have won three times, but suffered a defeat in their last clash against Anderlecht away from home. Before this they were enjoying a run of four consecutive games without a defeat.

Meanwhile Lokeren are 12th in the First Division A standings. They have 24 points and a record of 6 wins, 6 draws and 9 defeats. Lokeren still have a theoretical chance to finish in the Top 6 and qualify for the Championship round, but they really need to make a great run of positive results, if they want to get there.

In their last five games Lokeren lost twice, but now they are in a run of two consecutive wins, recorded against Antwerp and Mechelen. A win against Gent could move Lokeren with a few positions up in the table.

For this game Gent will rely on their two main strikers – the Japanese Yuya Kubo and the Nigerian Moses Simon. They have scored 11 goals combined since the start of the new season. They are Gent’s main offensive power since the start of the campaign.

On the other hand Lokeren will hope that their Swedish striker Robin Soder will score again. He has scored 4 goals since the start of the campaign, while the Serbian midfielder Marko Miric have scored the same amount of goals. These two players are very important for Lokeren this season.

Gent are favourites here, especially at home ground. But Lokeren have won their last two games, so be careful with them.

SPAL hosts Lazio in a match from the 20th round of the Italian Serie A.

SPAL are currently locked in a fight against relegation. They are 17th in the league standings, being on par with the 18th Crotone. So far SPAL have a record of 3 wins, 6 draws and 10 defeats. They are in a delicate situation right now and every point is going to be very important for them. But can they win anything against a strong side like Lazio?

Speakin of Lazio, the capital team is currently 5th in the Serie A with 37 points. Lazio’s main goal this season remains a qualification for the Champions League. This goal is as realistic as it could be, because Lazio are trailing on just two points behind the 4th Roma. But just as SPAL, they have to be as consistent as they can until the end of the season.

Lazio’s record so far in the league is 11 wins, 4 draws and 3 losses. In their last five matchez The Eagles won twice, made two draws and lost once – against Torino. In their last match Simone Inzaghi’s boys made a 0-0 draw during the tough visit to Inter at the Stadio San Siro.

Although they are one of the best teams in the country, Lazio are being a little bit inconsistent lately in the league. We are sure that they are good enough to step back on the their feet and the visit to SPAL is a very good opportunity to do exactly this. The fight for a Champions League is going to be rough and Lazio will need every point they could win.

For SPAL it could be said the same thing. They are obligated to look for points in every game possible and this one will not be an exception.

Torino welcomes Genoa in a match from the 19th round of the Italian Serie A.

Torino are currently placed exactly in the middle of the table. The Bulls are 10th in the league standings with 24 points and a record of 5 wins, 9 draws and 4 losses. They are perfoming as a typical midtable team this season and they are pretty much comfortable with this fact. It’s exactly what you’d expect from them.

In their last five games Torino won just once – against Lazio and made three draws. Including against SPAL in the last round of the league. They are inconsistent, but as long as they are moving around the middle of the table, everything is going to be fine for them.

Meanwhile Genoa finally found a way to escape the relegation zone in the Serie A. This happened thanks to their difficult, but precious win with 1-0 over the outsider Benevento. Now Genoa are 15th in the Serie A standings with 17 points and a record of 4 wins, 5 draws and 9 defeats. But they are on just two points above Crotone and the danger zone, so they can’t relax even a bit right now.

Daniele Baselli is suspended for Torino, while Adem Ljajic is injured for the game. In the same time Simone Edera, Antonio Barreca, Kevin Bonifazi, Cristian Ansaldi and Maxi Lopez are doubtful for the next game.

Genoa could be without Francesco Migliore and Sebastian Gorga, who are doubtful.

Torino are a slight favourite in this game. They have the home ground advantage, a slightly better squad and they are performing better this season. And if they can feel relaxed about their future in the league, Genoa do not have any other option, but to fight hard for survival until the end of the campaign.

Milan welcomes Atalanta in a match from the 18th round of the Italian Serie A. The game is going to be played at the legendary Stadio San Siro in Milan on Saturday evening.

Milan is continuing to struggle, even after Gennaro Gattuso replaced Enzo Montella as a manager of the team. In the last round the Rossoneri suffered a humilating 0-3 defeat against Hellas Verona, which was another sign that Milan is once again facing serious troubles.

Right now Milan are 8th in the Serie A standings, being on14 points behind the 4th Roma and the Champions League zone. As it looks now, Milan will once again miss a participation in Europe’s best competition next season. They started the new season with high ambitions and a lot of new players, but things are not working well for them at the moment. In the last five rounds of the league Milan won just once – against Bologna. It’s obvious that this season could end like another dissapointment for this great club.

Meanwhile Atalanta are on par with Milan. Both teams have the same amount of points – 24, but Atalanta are 7th because of a better goal difference. Last season Atalanta finished in the Top 6 and qualified for Europa League. Now Gian Piero Gasperini’s team will try to do the same. Atalanta are on just 3 points behind the 6th Sampdoria and Europa League zone, so the fight is still open for them.

Milan can’t use the suspended Suso, Leonardo Bonucci and Alessio Romagnoli, while Andrea Conti is still injured. Meanwhile Nikola Kalinic and Gabrel Paletta are doubtful for the clash because of injuries.

This moment is difficult for Milan. The loss against Verona once again brought dissapointment among the club’s fans. Now Milan have to try to beat their next opponent in the face of Atalanta and bring some joy to the tifozzi.

Spanish giants Sevilla are about to visit Slovenia and face Maribor in a match from Group E of the UEFA Champions League.

Sevilla are very close to reaching the 1/8-finals of the Champions League, but they need a positive result against Maribor. Right now the Rojiblancos are second in the group, being on one point behind the leader Liverpool and on two points ahead of the third Spartak Moscow.

If they beat Maribor on Wednesday night, they will 100% reach the 1/8-finals of the competition. As first or second team in the group – this depends on the result between Liverpool and Spartak Moscow in the other game.

Sevilla’s last match in this group was impressive. The Spaniards were losing with 0-3 against Liverpool at home, but they managed to get back on their feet and fight for a 3-3 draw. This showed us that Sevilla are a team with a lot of courage and spirit. They are also playing for their manager Eduardo Berizzo, who was diagnosed with cancer just a few weeks ago.

Maribor on the other hand are the underdogs in this group, just like everyone expected. They still managed to win two points so far by making two draws with Spartak Moscow. This is more than many people even expected of them.

Now the Slovenians will have the chance to end their campaign in front of their own fans. It’s going to be difficult for them to play against Sevilla, but they must have enough confidence now after the two points won against Spartak. Sevilla are the better team of course, but Maribor proved to be a dangerous team. Sevilla must be at their best if they want to get the three points and guarantee their qualification for the 1/8-finals.

Besiktas hosts Porto in a match from Group G of the UEFA Champions League.

Besiktas are leaders in this group with 10 points won so far. The Turkish team have a record of three wins and one draw so far. They are the only unbeaten team in the group at the moment. Maybe a few people expected to see Besiktas performing in such a brilliant way in the Champions League, but so far the Black Eagles are almost flawless. They lost points only one in the competition so far – during the 1-1 draw with Monaco in the last round.

Porto are currently second in this group with 6 points. In the last round The Dragons achieved a very important win against RB Leipzig at home, which allowed them to move ahead of the German team at the second place. Now Porto’s main goal is to hold on this position.

The first game between these two teams at Porto didn’t end very well for the Portuguese giants. Surprising for many, Besiktas won the match with 3-1 and started their campaign in the Champions League in an impressive way. Now their goal is to win the first place in the group and this could happen against Porto in Istanbul. Even a draw would be enough for the Turkish side to win the first place in this group.

This is not going to be an easy game for Porto. Everyone knows how hard it is to play in Turkey. The fans are creating incredible atmosphere at the stands and the noise is brutal. Porto really have to give their best in this game, if they want to enjoy a win.

Besiktas are in a better position than Porto, but they still have a work to do, if they want to win the first place in the group. This is their moment to do it.

Werder Bremen hosts Augsburg in a match from the 10th round of the German Bundesliga.

Werder didn’t start the new season very well. They are 17th in the Bundesliga standings and currently in the relegation zone. Only Koln are doing worse than them since the start of the new campaign. Werder’s record so far is zero wins, five draws and four losses. Alongside Koln, Werder is the only team in the Bundesliga right now who is still about to enjoy a win.

Augsburg are doing better than Werder, that’s for sure. They are 10th in the league standings with 12 points won so far. Their record is three wins, three draws and three defeats. How you could see, Augsburg are performing much more confidently than their next opponent.

In terms of current form, there’s something interesting about Werder. They have made four draws in their last five games. It looks like they really like this result, although we can be sure that they’d like to win more often than they are doing it now.

Augsburg are also not in a good form right now. They have not won a game in the last four rounds, making two draws and losing twice. In their last game Augsburg lost against Hannover 96 at home.

Let’s have a look at the team news before the game.

Werder can’t use the injured Justin Eilers, while Jerome Gondorf and Eric Oelschlagel are doubtful for the match because of different injuries.

Augsburg will be without the injured Sergio Cordova, while Dong-Won Ji, Daniel Baier, Joannis Gelios, Georg Teigl and Moritz Leitner are doubtful for the game.

Based on current form and performance, Augsburg are favourites against Werder. But in same time do not forget that Werder have the home ground advantage, which could be an important factor.

Anderlecht hosts PSG in a game from Group B of the UEFA Champions League.

This is a match between the first and the last team in the group. PSG are flawless in their performance so far, beating Celtic and Bayern Munich in the first two matches without conceding a goal. Their goal difference after the first two rounds is 8-0, which speaks enough for their performance in the first two matches.

After signing players like Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Dani Alves during the summer transfer window, PSG transformed themselves into one of the biggest favourites of winning the Champions League. Now Unai Emery have a terrific team at his disposal and their dominance over a team like Bayern Munich is the proof that they are capable of finally winning this competition.

Of course, PSG lacks the experience of other European giants, but nobody can’t deny that they are really impressive since the start of the new season. They dominating not just in the Champions League, but in the French Ligue 1 as well. In some moments they are looking like an unstoppable force.

Anderlecht started their participation in the Champions League with two defeats. Since the draw it’s clear that the Belgian team would fight with Celtic for the third place in the group. The Scottish team already took some advantage over Anderlecht, beating them on Belgian soil in the last round of the Champions League.

It’s going to be a real sensation if Anderlecht manage to win even a single point against PSG. There’s a huge difference in terms of class between these two teams and it’s an obvious thing. After beating Bayern in such a fashion, right now PSG are the big favourite for the first place in the group. Winning against Anderlecht would be just another day in the office for them.

Sporting Charleroi hosts Club Brugge in a match from the 8th round of the Belgian First Division A.

These are the two leaders in the league standings at the moment. Club Brugge are leading the table with 18 points won from 7 games, while Sporting Charleroi are just one point behind them. This match could change the leadership in the league, if Charleroi manage to win.

Club Brugge are almost perfect since the start of the new season. They have won six of their seven games fo far, losing points just once – during the 1-2 loss against Royal Excel Mouscron. In their last game Brugge won with 2-0 the home game against Mechelen.

Sporting Charleroi are the only unbeaten team since the start of the new season in the First Division A. They have a record of five wins and two draws so far. They are in a run of two consecutive draws – against Standard Liege and Waasland-Beveren. This is why they lost their position as a leader to Club Brugge.

So far it’s huge improvement for Sporting Charleroi in the regular season. During the last campaign they finished the regular season at 6th place. We can say that it’s a new time for Charleroi. Can they really improve so much to turn themselves into title contenders?

As for Club Brugge, last season they lost the title in a close fight with Anderlecht. Now they are motivated to turn their luck around and clinch the title. But it won’t be easy. If for now it looks like Sporting Charleroi and Club Brugge are the two teams who perform in the best way, do not forget that the champion Anderlecht won’t give up the title without a fight.

One thing is for sure – we shall expect a really interesting season in the First Division A. Let’s enjoy it!

Sassuolo hosts Juventus in a game from the 4th round of the Italian Serie A.

Sassuolo started the new campaign in Italy with just one point from the first three games. They made a draw against Genoa in the first round, but after that they lost two consecutive times against Torino and Atalanta. Right now they are just one position above the relegation zone in the Serie A, so they need to start winning points anytime soon.

Just as many expected, Juventus are perfect in the Serie A so far – three wins from three games played. The Old Lady was merciless against Cagliari, Genoa and Chievo, scoring 10 goals and conceding just 2. If Juve beat Sassuolo on Sunday, there’s a big chance to see them returning to the top of the league.

During the week Juventus had an unpleasant experience in the Champions League. Max Allegri’s team travelled to Barcelona to face the Catalan giant, but the result was not very good for Juve – 3-0 for Barca.

This is another reason to expect to see Juventus motivated and hungry for a win against Sassuolo. They have to find a way to redeem themselves for the bad loss against Barcelona. Maybe it’s not a very good moment to face Juve for Sassuolo.

Team news.

Sassuolo can’t use the injured Cristian Dell’Orco, who will be out until December with a knee injury. Meanwhile the striker Domenico Berardi is still doubtful with an injury. Most probably we won’t see him in action against the Old Lady.

Juventus’ manager Max Allegri can’t use the injured Sami Khedira and Mattia De Sciglio. The good news come from the condition of the Croatian talent Marko Pjaca. He has recovered from a serious knee injury, so maybe we will see him in action pretty soon.

Finland hosts Iceland in a match from Group I of the World Cup qualifiers in Europe. The game is going to be played on Saturday night in Tampere.

Iceland continue with their great performance. After qualifying for Euro 2016 and even reaching the 1/4-finals, this team continues to perform in a brilliant way. Iceland are currently second in Group I, being on par with the leader Croatia – both teams have 13 points each. The only reason why Croatia are leaders is because of a goal difference.

Iceland have a record of four wins, one draw and one loss from the first six games. Their goal difference is 9:6. In their last five matches in the group, they won four of them. In their last match Iceland beat the leader Croatia with 1-0 at home.

Finland on the other hand are not performing very good in this group so far. From six games played so far, Finland won just one point – against the other outsider Kosovo. Their record is very bad – zero wins, one draw and five losses. Goal difference is 4:10. They are one of the weakest teams in Europe in the moment, if we look up at the stats.

That’s why Iceland are a major favourite to win this match. They are one of the most improved teams in Europe at the moment. After qualifying for the European championship in France, it would be a great success for them to reach the World Cup in Russia as well. But if they want to do this, they must continue with their amazing performances.

We have no doubt that Iceland will win this game. They are the much better team. They are inspired and improved, while Finland are in a huge crisis at the moment. Most surely they are already waiting for the next qualification campaign.

TPS Turku are hosting OPS Oulu in a match from the 16th round of the Finish Ykkonen. The match is going to be played on Sunday afternoon in the city of Turku.

Turku are in a much better position than OPS Oulu in the standings right now. They are third with 29 points won, just two points behind the first two teams in the table – Honka and KPV. If they manage to beat OPS Oulu, Turku are going to clinch the first place in the Ykkonen.

OPS Oulu on the other hand are 7th in the league standings with 18 points won so far. They are clearly too far away from the top and promotion is not on the table for them. They must be more worried about avoiding relegation, because they are closer to the relegation zone than they are to the top.

TPS Turku are clearly in a good form at the moment. They are in a run of three consecutive wins and they didn’t lose neither one of their last five matches in the league. They are the team with the best defense in the Ykkonen at the moment, having conceded just 6 goals from 15 games played. This is a really, really impressive achievement from them.

As for OPS Oulu, they won just one of their last five matches – against GrlFK. In their last three games they won just two points, which is a proof that they are not in a position to chase big goals this season.

TPS Turku are the clear favourite to win this clash. They are much better team and they are playing at home. Anything, but a win for Turku would be a sensation in this clash. Turku’s players know that a win would send them on the top of the table. And who doesn’t want to be there?

Horsens welcomes Lyngby in a match from the second round of the Danish Superliga. The game is going to be played on Sunday afternoon in the city of Horsens.

Both teams started the new season in the best way possible – with a win.

Horsens travelled to face AGF and won the game with 2-1. The African aces Bubacarr Sanneh and Joseph Mensah scored for the win and their strikes meant first three points for Horsens.

Meanwhile Lyngby won with 2-1 the home game against Silkeborg. Kristoffer Larsen and David Boysen from a late penalty kick scored for the home team and it was enough for Lyngby to win first three points for the new campaign.

If we take a look at the last season in the Superliga, we shall see that Lyngby did much better during the regular season than Horsens.

Lyngby finished the regular season at 3rd place, which was a great performance for them. Meanwhile Horsens ended the regular season 10th, which meant that they had to play in the relegation round of the Superliga.

If we take a look at the head to head records we shall see that last season these two teams met two times. And despite of the final positions of these two teams in the standings, Horsens won twice. The first time with 2-1 and the second time with 1-0.

So it’s understandable that Lyngby will want to avenge these two losses when they meet again with Horsens on Sunday afternoon. Both teams will enter the match with a good confidence level after winning their games in the first round. To start the new campaign with a win is always great and these two teams did it. Can one of them make it two in a row? We will see today.

Sonderjyske hosts Randers in a match from the first round of the new season of the Danish Superliga.

Last season these two teams ended their campaigns in a very different way.

SonderjyskE reached the Championship Round of the league where they ended their campaign at 5th position, remaining out of the European competitions.

Randers had to play in the Relegation Round, after finishing the regular season at 7th place. In the Relegation Round they were the best team, finishing at 1st place and avoiding relegation in a pretty comfortable way.

Now both teams would want to improve their positions from the last year. SonderjyskE will once again aim for qualification for the Championship Round, but this time the goal is to qualify for the European competitions as well.

As for Randers, finishing in the Top 6 is the main goal. Last year Randers ended the regular season on just two points behind Nordsjælland and the Championship Round zone, which was a huge dissapointment for them. Because they were so close to their main goal.

The balance between these two teams in the head to head matches in the last two years is pretty even. SonderjyskE won the last game between them with 1-0, but before that Randers won with the same result. But in September 2016 Randers suffered a heavy defeat at home from SonderjyskE, losing with 0-4 in front of their own fans.

Although last year these two teams ended the season in different play-off rounds, we could say that the difference between them in terms of class and quality is not really that big. Because of that, we should expect a competitive and very interesting game between SonderjyskE and Randers. The home team looks to be a slight favourite, but let’s see what they have done during their summer preparations.

The leader in Group B Chile is facing Australia in a match from the Confederations Cup in Russia.

Chile are leading the group at the moment, although having the same amount of points as Germany. In the same time Germany are playing against Cameroon in the other game of the group. If the South Americans want to win this group, they must chase a win with a bigger margin over Australia. Can they do it?

In their last game Chile made a 1-1 draw with Germany, after taking an early lead thanks to Alexis Sanchez’ strike, but conceding an equalizer just minutes before the half-time.

In their first game Chile didn’t face any trouble against Cameroon, winning with 2-0.

As for Australia, they are currently third with just one point won so far – during the 1-1 draw with Cameroon. It’s really difficult for the Australians to think that they could reach the semifinals. Just theoretically they can do it, but only if they manage to win just a huge margin over Chile. And this does not seems very likely to happen.

Chile are one of the big favourites to win the Confederations Cup this year. Against Australia they could give a rest to some key players, preparing them for the semifinals. Being champions of South America, Chile are one of the teams to watch in Russia this summer. They have world class players like Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez, so it’s normal to consider them a strong contender for the title.

The Australians on the other hand didn’t come to Russia with very high ambitions. They knew that they are going to be labeled outsiders in the group and so far they are not anything different than that. Against Chile they will try to finish their participation with a positive results, but it’s going to be really difficult for them.

Mjøndalen hosts Ullensaker / Kisa in a match from the 12th round of the Norway’s 1. Division. The match is going to be played on Sunday night.

Both teams are with the same active of points after the first 11 games of the season – per 17. Right now Mjøndalen are in a better position than Ullensaker / Kisa, being 6th in the standing with a better goal difference.

Mjøndalen have won four of its games so far during the campaign, losing two and making draws in the other five. They have scored 21 goals so far and conceded 14. They are one of the three teams with the most efficient attack in the 1. Division since the beginning of the new campaign.

As for Ullensaker / Kisa, they have won 5, lost 4 and drew in 2 since the start of the new season. They have a totally equal goal difference so far – 16 goals scored and 16 goals conceded.

In terms of current form, both teams are not doing very well lately, winning just one of their last five matches. It’s clear that they are far away from their best form, so let’s see which one of them will show a better face when they meet on Sunday.

In terms of head to head record, Mjøndalen is the team who has an advantage in the last five games. They have won three of them, but in May 2016 they have suffered a heavy 1-5 defeat by Ullensaker / Kisa.

The last game between these two teams was played in August 2016, when Mjøndalen and Ullensaker / Kisa shared the points with a 0-0 draw.

It’s obvious that both teams have the ambition to qualify for the Eliteserien next season. But if they want to achieve they goal, they have to drastically improve the form they are showing in the last month.

After once again winning the title in the Turkish Super Lig, now Besiktas will celebrate the trophy with their fans. The new old champions are hosting Osmanlispor in their last game of the season in Istanbul.

Besiktas did great this season and managed to defend their crown from the last campaign. They won the battle with the surprising contender Istanbul Basaksehir, after intense duel with them during the whole campaign. And although Istanbul Basaksehir proved to be a worthy contender, managing to qualify for the Champions League, Besiktas once again showed themselves to be the best team in Turkey.

22 wins, 8 draws and just 3 losses. 69 goals (more than anyone else in Turkey) and 30 conceded – this is Besiktas’ performance in numbers in the Super Lig this season. They also made a strong run in Europe, reaching the final stages of Europa League, before being eliminated by Olympique Lyonnais after a dramatic penalty shoot-out.

It was once again a good season for Besiktas’ main striker Cenk Tosun at all. He managed to score 18 goals in the league so far, being on par with the legendary Samuel Eto’o from Antalyaspor. There’s only one player who have scored more goals than Tosun and Eto’o in Turkey this season – the former Brazilian international Vagner Love from Alanyaspor.

As for Osmanlispor, they achieved their biggest goal this season – the survival. They are currently 13th in the league standings, but they even have the chance to beat Alanyaspor for the 12th place.

But if we have a look at their current form, we will see that Osmanlispor are not in their greatest condition at the moment. They have lost four games in a row, which makes it hard to believe that they could win against the champion Besiktas in the last round. Especially on away ground.

KV Oostende versus Genk is the final play-off for a participation in the Europa League in the Belgian league.

These two teams will meet at the Versluys Arena in Oostende and one of them will qualify for the European competition.

KV Oostende finished at 5th place in the regular season of the First Division A. They have won 50 points in 30 games played, managing to record 14 wins, 8 draws and 8 losses. During the regular season they have scored 52 goals and conceded 37.

As for Genk, they ended they regular season campaign at 8th place. They achieved 14 wins, made 6 draws and lost 10 games. They scored 40 goals and conceded 35.

It was a really dissapointing season for Genk. They have hoped that they are going to fight for a Top 3 place in the First Division A, but their performance was not as good as it was expected. But anyway, now they will have the chance to fight for an Europa League place after some solid performance in the Europa League playoffs in Belgium.

We could say that KV Oostende dominates in the last four games against Genk. In July 2016 Genk managed to beat Oostende with 2-1, but four months later Oostende thrashed their opponents with 6-0. In January they made a 1-1 draw for the Belgian Cup, but in the rematch Oostende managed to win once again – 1-0 on away ground.

KV Oostende showed a better form in the First Division A this season, which makes them a favourite against Genk. But you should not forget that Genk are one of the historical clubs in Belgian football, so do not be too quick to write them off. We actually expect to see some really competitive game between these two sides.

Istanbul Basaksehir welcomes Besiktas in a game from the 29th round of the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday night.

Besiktas are very close to securing just another title in the Super Lig, having a 7 point advantage in front of its next opponent. A win at the Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadyumu would almost sure mean that The Black Eagles are going to triumph with the title for a second year in row.

Istanbul Basaksehir on the other hand could ressurect their chances of winning the title, but only if they beat Senol Gunes’ team. Even if they lose the title fight with Besiktas, their main goal in the league remains qualifying for the Champions League. Right now Istanbul have a 4 point advantage in front of the third Fenerbache, so they need to continue winning as much points as possible, if they want to reach Europe’s biggest competition.

Besiktas are showing some great form lately, winning all of their last three matches.

Istanbul Basaksehir on the other hand won just one of their three games – against Galatasaray, so they really need to improve their form in the final rounds of the league.

Recently Besiktas were eliminated from the Europa League, so now they could concentrate entirely on the Super Lig. They are clearly the strongest team in the country right now, but they still have to secure the title and they should avoid celebrating too early.

Istanbul Basaksehir on the other hand are enjoying one of the best seasons in their history. Reaching the Champions League would be a terrific achievement for this club and you can be sure that they will give their all to do it.

Maybe Besiktas are the favourite to win this clash, but do not underrestimate the home team as well. It’s going to be a great game!

The Turkish giant Besiktas hosts Olympique Lyonnais in a second leg from the Europa League 1/4-finals at the Vodafone Arena in Istanbul.

The French team won the first leg in Lyonnais with 2-1, which is giving them a slight advantage before the difficult visit to Turkey. It was a really unfortunate experience for Besiktas as the Turkish team had a goal advantage until the 83th minute of the game. Two very quick goals from Corentin Tolisso and Jeremy Morel allowed OL to overturn the game and win it in the last minutes.

Even with a goal advantage from the first leg, everyone at Olympique Lyonnais expects a very tough fixture in Istanbul. And they are completely right. It’s always very difficult for the foreign teams to play in Turkey, because the atmosphere there is traditionally very hostile. You can be sure that Besiktas’ fans will do the best they can to support their team and make it very difficult for the French team.

In the first leg Besiktas showed everyone that they have enough quality to rival Olympique Lyonnais on the pitch. Even with losing the first leg, the result is not really that much for them. Even a “clean” win with 1-0 will allow them to qualify for the 1/2-finals, because they already have the so important away goal scored. But it would be a very dangerous tactic if they enter the pitch with the thought of a 1-0 win.

As for Olympique Lyonnais, the French team knows that winning Europa League is their only chance of returining to the Champions League next season. They are already out of the battle for the Top 3 in Ligue 1, so now they do not have any other chances of returning to the CL, except of winning the Europa League. Let’s see if they are going to be able to do it.

Ajax welcomes Schalke 04 in a first Europa League 1/4-final at the Amsterdam ArenA in the city of Amsterdam.

This is one of the most interesting clashes in the Europa League 1/4-finals this season, as we see two historical clubs with big traditions against each other.

Ajax are currently engaged in a fierce battle with Feyenoord for the title in the Eredivisie, so it’s not clear if they are going to prioritize their Europa League participation until the end of the season. They are just one point behind Feyenoord in the standings, so it won’t be surprising if they prioritize to fight for the title instead of continuing in the European competition.

As for Schalke, winning Europa League is this team’s only chance for a return to the Champions League. The Royal Blues are seriously underperforming in the Bundesliga this season and they are far away from the Champions League places in the standings.

In the last phase of the tournament, Ajax won the battle against the Dannish champion København, while Schalke managed to eliminate their countrymen Borussia M’gladbach after two draws and more goals on away ground.

This is going to be a very interesting clash between two classy and technical teams, although as we said – one of them is currently underperforming in its domestic league. But even having serious problems in the Bundesliga, Schalke still managed to reach the Europa League 1/4-finals, which is a great achievement for the Royal Blues. Let’s see how far they could go in the competition. Their goal is clear – participation in the final and maybe winning it. They are former holders of the trophy, so it won’t be something new for them.

As for Ajax, the Dutch team have to decide if they are going to concentrate entirely on winning the title in the Eredivisie or they are also going to reach for the Europa League trophy as well.

Can the champion Barcelona keep its crown in the Spanish La Liga? The Catalans are currently just two points behind the leader Real Madrid, although the Los Blancos still have a game in hand. In order to keep their chances alive, Barca must win as much games as possible until the end of the season. Starting with the visit to Granada on Saturday night.

Luis Enrique’s team had a brief spell on the top of La Liga, but the loss against Deportivo La Coruna at the Riazor once again moved them back to the 2nd place.

Granada on the other hand are still fighting against relegation, although their task seems very hard. Granada are currently 19th in the league, being on 7 points behind the 17th Leganes and the safety zone. They need points as soon as possible, but can they start winning them against a club of Barcelona’s calibre?

There’s going to be one huge absence in Barcelona’s squad for the visit to Granada. The best player in the club’s history Lionel Messi is suspended, so he will miss the trip. In same time Arda Turan is also unavaliable because of an injury, while Aleix Vidal remains sidelined until the end of the season. Jordi Alba and Jeremy Mathieu are doubtful for the clash.

Four of Granada’s players are doubtful for the clash. Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez, Matthieu Saunier, Héctor Hernández and Adrian Ramos are still recovering from injuries, so their participation in the game is still not clear. The good news come from the recovery of Omer Atzily, Martin Hongla and Panagiotis Kone, who are once again fit and ready to play for the home team.

Barcelona are the clear favourite to win this game, but do not forget that it was the same when they travelled to La Coruna to face Deportivo. If Los Cules underrestimate this game as well, the result could be dissapointing for them once again.

After a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Georgios Karaiskáki in Piraeus, Besiktas and Olympiakos will meet again in a fierce Balkan derby in the Europa League 1/8-finals.

Esteban Cambiasso gave Olympiakos the lead in the first leg, but Vincent Aboubakar equalized after the break. This goal allowed Besiktas to expect the second leg in Instabul with a slight advantage.

With this result Besiktas could qualify for the 1/4-final even with a 0-0 draw, but the Turkish team probably knows very well that it could be a dangerous idea to start the game with such a thought.

Besiktas was clearly the better team in Piraeus. The Turkish team attacked better and had more opportunities to score, but after all the game ended with a 1-1 draw.

Besiktas is still a leader in the Turkish Super Lig, having two points advantage in front of Istanbul BB. Senol Güneş’ team lost two points in its last game, surprisingly being unable to beat Kayserispor at home.

Olympiakos on the other hand is also a leader in the Greek Super League. Vasilis Vouzas’ team is having six points advantage in front of Panionios, marching confidently towards another title in the league.

We could say that Besiktas are a favourite for qualification, not just because the result from the first leg, but also because of its better performance in this game. But the Balkan derbies are often very unpredictable, so nobody should write off Olympiakos’ chances just yet. The Greek team still possess very good and skilled players, who could overturn the deficit from the first leg at home turf.

Olympiakos need to attack and look for the goal, if they want to continue in the competition. On the other hand, this is going to open a lot of chances for the home team.

Two German teams are meeting in the Europa League 1/8-finals. Schalke 04 and Borussia M’gladbach will have to determine which one of these two squads will proceed to the 1/4-finals of the competition.

In the 1/16-finals Schalke managed to eliminate PAOK, while Borussia M’gladbach showed its true class against Fiorentina and qualified to the next round. The first game between the two teams will be played at the VELTINS-Arena in Gelsenkirchen.

We could say that both teams are underperforming in the Bundesliga this season. After qualifying for the Champions League last season, right now Borussia are 9th in the standings, 9 points behind the 4th Hoffenheim. Dieter Hecking’s team won its last four games in the Bundesliga, which really helped them to improve their position in the table.

Schalke on the other hand are 12th in the standings, which is a pure disaster for a club with such ambitions and potential. Markus Weinzierl’s boys didn’t win neither one of their last three games in the league, winning just one of the last five.

Schalke will be without the injured Naldo, Baba Rahman and Breel Donald Embolo, while Donis Avdijaj is also out for the game. The good news for the Royal Blues come from the recovery of Atsuto Uchida and Jorge Andujar Coke.

Borussia M’gladach won’t be able to rely on Moritz Nicolas, Mamadou Doucoure and Ibrahima Traoré, who are all injured at the moment. In same time Andreas Christensen, Christoph Kramer and Joel Mero are doubtful for the match with different problems. Thorgan Hazard and Marvin Schulz are ready to play though, so we could see them in action once again.

This is a difficult game to predict, because the European games are very different from the ones in the domestic league. Most probably the tie is going to be decided in the second leg.

Monaco welcomes Nice in the most interesting game from the 23rd round of the French Ligue 1. Both teams are currently on the top of the league with 49 points each, but Monaco is the team with the better goal difference.

It’s a little bit strange season in the Ligue 1. Everyone was expecting a domination from the champion PSG, but Unai Emery’s team is currently third in the league with three points behind Monaco and Nice. The champions still have a good chance to defend their crown, but this time they will face some real competition for the title.

Monaco are performing amazingly good this season. Leonardo Jardim’s team scored more goals than any other team in the league so far – 65, being the most attractive and exciting team to watch in France since the start of the new campaign. Leonardo Jardim’s great work already led to some speculations, that he could move to a bigger club after the end of the season. But right now he’s still in Monaco and he has only one goal in mind – winning the Ligue 1 for 8th time in the club’s history and for first time since 2000.

Nice are another team which is impressing everyone since the start of the season. Alassane Plea and Mario Balotelli formed a formidable partnernship in attack, scoring 20 goals combined for their team in the Ligue 1. Nice are also the team with the best defense in France, having conceded just 15 goals so far in the league.

On Saturday night we will have the chance to see the best attack in France against the best defense in the country. Nobody scored more goals than Monaco this season and nobody conceded less than Nice. This is a reason to expect a very interesting game at the Stade Louis II. A game which could be very important for the title hunt as well.

Eibar welcomes Atletico Madrid in a game from the 17th round of the Spanisn La Liga. The match will be played on Saturday at the Estadio Municipal de Ipurúa in Eibar.

Things are not going good for Atletico Madrid lately. Diego Simeone’s team is already falling behind with 9 points behind the leader Real Madrid, which is also with a game in hand. Atletico won just two of its last five games and lost two of them as well. This kind of inconstancy is already leaving the capital team out of the title race, because very soon Real Madrid and Barcelona could be out of their reach for good.

Atletico’s bad form in the last few weeks again sparked some rumours that Diego Simeone could leave the club after the end of the season. It’s not a secret that the Argentine manager is linked with a return to his former club Inter. It remains to be seen how Atletico are going to finish the season and what Cholo Simeone is going to decide about his future.

Eibar on the other hand are performing even better than they probably have been expecting. Mendilibar’s team is comfortably sitting at 8th place in the standings, which is for now giving the team some extra calmness about its survival in La Liga this season.

This game is probably more crucial for Atletico than it is for Eibar. The capital team can’t afford to continue losing points. They could even lose their place in the Champions League, if they continue like that. Teams like Sevilla, Villarreal, Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao are also contenders for the Top 4 this season, so Atletico will have some serious competition for a Champions League qualification until the end of the campaign. For Eibar it’s all clear – their main goal remains to survive in La Liga for another season.

Bayer Leverkusen welcomes Monaco at the BayArena in the last round of the group stages of the Champions League.

Monaco is the surprising winner of Group E of the Champions League, while Bayer Leverkusen will finish the group at second place. This game will not change anything in the standings of the group.

Both teams are still unbeaten in the tournament so far. Monaco won three of its games and shared the points in two and now the French team is already expecting the draw for the knock-out phase.

Bayer Leverkusen on the other hand won the battle for the second place with Tottenham and they are now also thinking about the next phase of the tournament.

The first game between the two teams in Monaco finished with a 1-1 draw. Javier Hernandez opened the score for Leverkusen in the middle of the second half, but Kamil Glik scored a late equalizer in the injury time, saving a point for the 2004 finalists.

Bayer Leverkusen will be without the services of Karim Bellarabi, Admir Mehmedi, Kevin Volland and Kevin Kampl, who are all injured. Lars Bender is also still not avaliable for pick, while Hakan Calhanoglu is doubtful for the match.

Monaco’s manager Leonardo Jardim will be without the goalkeeper Danijel Subasic, who is injured and will not be avaliable for the game.

During the weekend Bayer Leverkusen made a wrong step against Freiburg at home, being unable to achieve anything more than a 1-1 draw. The Aspirins are not performing well in the Bundesliga this season and they are currently 9th in the standings.

Monaco continue to perform greatly in the French Ligue 1. Leo Jardim’s team is second in the standings, just three points behind the surprising leader Nice. During the weekend Monaco thrashed Bastia at home, winning 5-0.

Everything looked just right in the Spanish La Liga last week, when Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid all won their last games. And with Sevilla surprisingly losing two points against Sporting Gijon, the three big clubs are now once again leading the table. Real Madrid currently have two points advantage in front of Barcelona, while Altetico Madrid are moving three points away from the leader.

It’s ten goals scored for Real Madrid in Los Blancos’ last two away games in La Liga. After they scored six times against Real Betis, now they scored four against Deportivo Alaves away from home. This is seriously impressive away form for Zinedine Zidane’s team. For Real Madrid the best thing that happened in Alaves was Cristiano Ronaldo’s hattrick. The Portuguese star started the new season a little bit quiet, but at the Estadio de Mendizorroza he once again showed everyone how deadly he could be in front of goal.

Real Madrid will need Cristiano to be back to his best in thext seven months, if they want to win La Liga for first time since 2012. This is a serious time without a title for the European Champions, so now everyone insists from Zinedine Zidane and his boys to win the gold medals for a first time in five years. Now they are about to face Leganes at the Santiago Bernabeu and everyone expects another solid win for the Los Blancos. Especially given the fact that Leganes lost all of their last three La Liga games.

But the reigning champions Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are not going to allow to lose the title without a fight.

Barca won against Granada at the Camp Nou, but they didn’t impress at all. It was kind of dull performance from the Catalans. Rafinha’s only goal brought them the three points, but we didn’t see any glimpses of this team’s magic, including the fantastic trio Messi – Neymar – Suarez. But games like these happen in football and the most important thing is to win the three points. Luis Enrique knows it very well, so you could bet that he’s satisfied with the win.

This weekend the Catalans are facing a very difficult challenge. They will travel to Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán to face Sevilla and this is a game which could end in every way possible. Barca know that they are already behind Real Madrid in the table, so if they lose points it could mean that Real Madrid’s advantage would get even bigger. They will try to win, but against Sevilla it’s always very difficult goal to achieve. We should expect a very intense and interesting game between these two teams.

The La Liga’s top scorers at the moment remain Barcelona players. Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez scored seven goals in the first ten rounds of the league, while Celta’s Iago Aspas and Atletico’s Antoine Griezmann follow closely with six scored goals so far. After scoring three against Alaves, Cristiano Ronaldo is coming closer with five goals scored.

Speaking of Atletico, they reacted very well after losing the derby against Sevilla last weekend. Diego Simeone’s team scored four times against Malaga at the Vicente Calderon, so everything looks back on tracks right now. This weekend Atletico travels to San Sebastian to face Real Sociedad, so it’s another tough test for Diego Simeone and his team. The Basques are performing well in the league and they won three of their last four matches, so Atletico should give their all, if they want to win there.

The English Premier League proves to be incredibly competitive after the first nine rounds being played. Three teams are fighting for the top spot with an equal amount of points – per 20, and these teams are Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool. The goal difference is the only reason why The Citizens are leading the table right now, but this could change very quickly.

Two more teams are just one point behind the first three – Chelsea and Tottenham, who are very close to the top with 19 points won so far. How you can see, the team who is currently 5th in the table could become a leader for just one round. This proves that we shall expect a very competitive and interesting season in England.

It’s curious to follow what’s happening with Manchester City. Josep Guardiola’s team started the new campaign in a brilliant way, enjoying six consecutive wins. The problems for City came in the last few weeks, in which The Citizens didn’t win neither one of their last three games, winning just 2 points out of 9.

Teams like Arsenal and Liverpool used this dip of form to get closer to the top. The Gunners won four of their last five games and if it was the dissapointing draw against Middlesbrough at The Emirates, now Arsene Wenger’s team would have been the new leader in the Premier League. It was absolutely unexpected to see Arsenal struggling against Boro at home ground, but this is another proof how strong the Premier League is this season.

Liverpool is another team who deserves some compliments for its results lately. Jurgen Klopp’s team started the new campaign with in an inconsistent way, but The Reds managed to stabilize their performance with the time. Just like Arsenal, Liverpool won four of their last five games, losing points only against Manchester United at the Anfield. In this game Liverpool was the better team, but Jose Mourinho’s defensive approach and David De Gea’s heroics saved a point for the Red Devils.

Chelsea’s manager Antonio Conte is breathing more freely now, after he was close to sacking just a few weeks ago. When The Blues lost two consecutive games against Liverpool and Arsenal, everyone thought that Conte’s time at the Stamford Bridge could be over really soon. Then there came three wins in a row against Hull, Leicester and Manchester United, which proved that Juventus’ former manager has the potential to turn Chelsea into the powerhouse this team was in the Premier League not too much ago.

Let’s not forget teams like Tottenham, Everton and especially Manchester United, who are currently out of the Top 4 in the Premier League, but surely have the potential to be important factors in the league. It’s interesting to see how Jose Mourinho will deal with the pressure he’s facing at the Old Trafford at the moment, especially after the expensive signings he made before the start of the season. When you are paying more than 100 millions for just one player, everyone expects from you to do a little better.

One of the favourites to win Group A of the Champions League Arsenal welcomes Ludogorets at the Emirates Stadium in London.

Both Arsenal and PSG are leading the group with 4 points won from the first two games, underlining their status as the two major teams in this company. As it was expected, Ludogorets and Basel are probably going to fight for the third spot and Europa League football.

Ludogorets are a decent team with some nice players, but it would be one of the big surprises of the night, if they take something from Arsenal at The Emirates. The Gunners are much more impressive as a team, so the Bulgarians are the clear underdogs in this clash.

For Arsenal is important to win every points possible until the end of the group stage, because the battle for the first spot with PSG is going to be really intense. The French club is also motivated to win the group, so we should expect some solid battle in the coming weeks.

It’s not typical for Real Madrid to lose points in three consecutive games in La Liga, but exactly this happened to Zinedine Zidane’s team in the last month. The Los Blancos didn’t win neither once against Villarreal, Las Palmas and Eibar, which is the reason why La Liga has a new leader – Atletico Madrid.

Now the European champions are travelling to Seville to meet Real Betis and they know very well that this time they have to win. A fourth consecutive game without a win would be a sign for a serious crisis at the Bernabeu and nobody really wants it, especially Zinedine Zidane.

Real Betis are just two points above the relegation zone in La Liga, winning just two games in the first seven rounds of the league. In the last round they lost against Real Sociedad at the Anoeta, but before that they managed to win against Malaga at home. Now they are about to face a much harder test.

Two of the biggest favourites for World Cup qualification in Group E Poland and Denmark are about to face each other at Stadion Narodowy in the capital Warszawa.

Denmark are currently leading the group after beating Armenia at home in their first game in Group E, while Poland managed to win just one point from their visit to Kazakhstan in September. The Polish team left a good impression during the Euro 2016 in France this summer, so they are one of the strongest team in this group.

A win over the Red Dynamite could allow Poland to lead the group, while three points would put Denmark in a really strong position after the first two games in the group. But could they deal with Robert Lewandowski and the rest of Poland’s biggest stars? It’s certainly something they must do, if they want to leave Warszawa with a point or three.

The champions Rosenborg are once again an unstoppable force in Norwegian football and they already clinched another title in the Eliteserien, being absolutely untouchable in 2016. And this weekend they could celebrate another win, hosting Vålerenga at home.

Rosenborg are again the best team in Norway and the stats are proving this. Kare Ingebrigtsen’s team won 19 of 25 games played so far, losing just one of them. Meanwhile Rosenborg scored 57 goals and conceded just 17, which is showing a great balance between defense and attack.

Vålerenga on the other hand are more close to relegation than to something else in the league. They are just three points over the relegation play-off, so they must give their all in the remaining matches, if they want to feel safe.

Even if Vålerenga’s motivation for this clash is arguably bigger, Rosenborg are still a much, much better team than them. Everything else than a win for the champions would be a huge surprise.

The German powerhouse Schalke 04 are hosting the ambitious Red Bull Salzburg in an Europa League game at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen.

The Royal Blues started in a positive manner their participation at the Europa League this season, beating Nice during their trip to France. Salzburg on the other hand dissapointed their fans, losing against the Russian side Krasnodar at home.

The Austrian team knows that they should take at least a point from this game, if they want to keep high chances for qualifying for the knockout phase of the tournament. But it won’t be an easy task at the Veltins-Arena.

You should take attention of Schalke’s shocking performance in the Bundesliga so far. The Royal Blues lost all of their five games in the league so far and they are the only team without a point in the Bundesliga so far. Salzburg on the other hand didn’t lose neither one of their last five games in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Milan travels to the beautiful city of Florence this weekend, where the Rossoneri will meet Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. For Milan’s manager Vincenzo Montella this is going to be a clash against one of his former teams he used to manage in the past.

Milan’s performance in the Serie A since the start of the season is the definition of contrast. The Rossoneri won three of their first five games and lost two, which means that Milan still can’t find a long needed consistency in their performance.

Fiorentina still have a game in hand, after one of their matches was postponed. Currently La Viola is placed at the the middle of the table with 7 points won from four games played, so this is a good opportunity for Paulo Sousa’s boys to improve their position in the standings. As for Milan, three points in Florence could mean a place among the first three teams in the table.

The BayArena in Leverkusen is ready to welcome some Champions League football once again, because Bayer Leverkusen is hosting CSKA Moscow in a game from Group E of the most prestigious club competition on the planet.

Roger Schmidt’s Leverkusen didn’t start too well the new season in the German Bundesliga, losing against Borussia M’gladbach in the first round of the league. The former finalists in the competition fixed their mistake against Hamburger at home, winning comfortably with 3-1 just a few days ago.

CSKA Moscow also lost some points since the start of the new season in Russia’s Premier League. The team from the capital is currenly placed at 2nd place in the league, with just their city rivals Spartak Moscow being in front of them in the table.

Bayer Leverkusen are clearly a favourite to win this clash because of their home advantage, but it’s never easy to play against russian sides.

Liverpool are about to play their first home game of this season, welcoming the champion Leicester City at the legendary Anfield Road.

The Reds started the new season in the English Premier League with three away games in a row, winning four points during the process. Now it’s time for Liverpool to grace the Anfield for a first time this season, which is something to be expected from the legendary club’s fans.

Leicester on the other hand started the new campaing exactly like Liverpool, winning four points in the first three points. The Foxes managed to keep their biggest stars Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez during the summer, which was great news for the manager Claudio Ranieri. It’s remain to be seen what we could expect from the champions this season.

This a first game for Liverpool at the Anfield since the start of the season, so we could expect a frantic atmosphere at the legendary ground. But last season Leicester proved that they are not feeling intimidated by playing on hostile territory.

The champions Barcelona are travelling to San Mames Barria in the Basque country, where they are about to face Athletic Bilbao.

Barca started the new season in La Liga in a spectacular fashion, beating Real Betis with 6-2 at home. Luis Suarez bagged another hat-trick for the Catalans, while Leo Messi scored twice for Luis Enrique’s team.

The start of the new campaign was not that successful for Athletic Bilbao and their manager Ernesto Valverde, with the Basque team losing its visit to Sporting Gijon. Now they will have the opportunity to win their first points in the league, but it would require a much better performance against a powerhouse like Barcelona.

Barcelona on the other hand are aware that every point could be crucial in the battle for the La Liga crown. Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will be ready to use every mistake the Catalans make, so the game in Bilbao will not be an exception.

It’s time for the German Bundesliga to start once again. The current champion Bayern Munich welcomes Werder Bremen in the first game of the new season, which would also be a debut for Bayern’s new manager Carlo Ancelotti in the German league.

The Italian manager replaced Josep Guardiola on helm and now everyone expect the same kind of success from him as well. Mats Hummels is expected to start after his move from Borussia Dortmund, while the other new signing of Bayern Renato Sanches will miss the game because of an injury. Arjen Robben and Douglas Costa will also be absent from Ancelotti’s starting eleven.

Werder will not have the opportunity to rely on their most expensive summer signing Max Kruse, who suffered a serious knee injury just a few days ago. It’s just a bad luck for Werder after the club paid 7,50 millions euro to Wolfsburg for Kruse’s services during the summer.

The 2016/17 season of the English Premier League starts with the game between Hull City and the current champion Leicester City. The game will be played at KCOM Stadium in Hull.

Leicester did the impossible last season by winning the Premier League for first time in the club’s history – something, which even the biggest fans of the Foxes would never expect to happen. The champions were unable to keep the french international N’Golo Kante, who was sold to Chelsea for 35,80 million euro, while Andrej Kramaric was sold to Hoffenheim for 10 millions.

So far the best news for the manager Claudio Ranieri come from the fact that Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez are still there. These are Leicester’s biggest stars and it would be a major boost for the Foxes if they manage to keep them for another season.

Meanwhile, Leicester paid 19,50 million euro to CSKA Moscow for the nigerian striker Ahmed Musa, while 15,50 more millions were paid to OGC Nice for the defensive midfielder Nampalys Mendy, who will have the hard task to replace N’Golo Kante. Leicester also signed the attacking midfielder Bartosz Kapustka (Cracovia Krakow) and the goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler (Hannover 96), so we could say that the Foxes did enough to improve ther championship winning squad.

Hull City is one of the teams who won promotion to the Premier League last season. The Tigers are led by the manager Mike Phelan and they will do their best to keep their place in the elite. So far Hull surprisingly didn’t sign any new players, while the central midfielder Mohamed Diame was sold to Newcastle for 5,40 million euro. Sone Aluko and Ryan Taylor also left the club.

It would be very brave to think that Leicester could defend its title this season, but Claudio Ranieri’s team could still do very well during the campaign. And it would be interesting to see how they will start the new season away from home against Hull City.

It’s time! Euro 2016 in France officially begins! The world is ready to watch Europe’s best team facing each other on international level. Will Spain defend its crown? Or we will see a new champion? Which teams will be the major surprises of the tournament? And which will be the ones to dissapoint? Only time will tell.

Euro 2016 will be the first in history so far to include 24 teams. There are six groups of four teams, with the group stage being followed by a knockout phase, including three rounds and the final. The team which wins the trophy will also recieve the right to participate in the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia.

If we could describe this edition of the European Championship, then we should use the word “security”. After the terrorist attacks on Paris on 13 November 2015, the Euro 2016 will be probably the most secured event in the history of France. Tourists, fans, stadiums and players will be guarded by special forces, with fear and insecurity being sensed in the air.

The hosts France, Germany, Spain and Italy are considered the biggest favourites to lift the trophy, while Belgium, Croatia, England and Portugal are also considered as possible winners. The most notable absentee is Netherlands – the same team which finished third in the last edition of the World Cup in Brazil.

Passion, smiles, tears, triumph and failure – we will probably see them all during the Euro 2016. It’s the biggest football event of the year, so prepare yourself. Europe will breathe football in the next month.

Euro 2016 officially begins with the hosts France welcoming Romania at the Stade de France in the french capital.

Didier Deschamps’ team is one of the main favourites to win the trophy, not just because they host the tournament. Players like Blaise Matuidi, Pol Pogba, Antoine Griezmann and Olivier Giroud guarantee that France is going to be a solid factor in the tournament, but you should also not forget about talented youngsters like Kingsley Coman and Anthony Martial, who made a nice impression playing for Bayern Munich and Manchester United last season.

Led by Anghel Iordanescu, Romania will try to oppose to the big favourite of the game. The Balkan team will most probably rely on its team spirit and unity to neutralize France’s enormous potential. Don’t be surprised to see Romania playing with ten men behind the ball, patiently waiting for its chances to counter attack and use every opportunity given to them by the hosts.

England and Russia are facing each other to determine which team will be the big favourite in Group B of Euro 2016.

These two teams are seen as favourites to reach the knockout phase of the tournamens, although Wales and Slovakia should not be underestimated, too. Because surprises can happen in any given moment.

England’s team is one of the youngest in the competition, which is seen as a positive thing for the Three Lions. If this brave decision by the manager Roy Hodgson is going to pay out for the brits, it remains to be seen.

Russia on the other hand will rely on their manager’s Leonid Slutsky rich experience. Slutsky replaced the legendary Fabio Capello last August and his record so far is more than positive – six wins from eight games with the russian national team. Slutsky is the first russian to manage the selection since 2006.

World champions Germany officially start their Euro 2016 campaign against Ukraine at Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Villeneuve-d’Ascq.

Die Mannschaft will try to do the same thing Spain did few years ago – winning the European Championship right after their triumph at the World Cup. Germany is probably the most favoured team to win the Euro 2016, although there are many other good teams to reach for the trophy.

There are few changes which Die Mannschaft’s manager Joachim Low had to make after the World Cup. Legends like Miroslav Klose and Phillip Lahm are not part of the national team anymore, but there are some new faces like Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sane, Julian Weigl and even Mario Gomez, who was not picked for the World Cup.

Ukraine will come into the game with a boosted confidence, after winning all of the four friendlies the team have played in the last few months – against Cyprus, Wales, Romania and Albania. Germany is a team from a different league, though, so we shall see how Mikhail Fomenko’s team will behave against a squad from this calibre.

The host of Euro 2016 France is facing one of the surprising participants in the competition Albania at Stade Velodrome in Marseille.

Didier Deschamps’ team scored a late goal and managed to win against Romania in their first game, while the debutants Albania were beaten by the far more experienced team of Switzerland. Now they need to take at least a point to keep their hopes for something more in the competition, although it’s a very difficult task against a team filled with stars such as France.

It’s not surprising that France is the big favourite in this game. Deschamps’ players will try to bring some more joy to their fans, maybe scoring more goals than they did against Romania, too. There are high expectations about France in this tournament, so they need to perform better if they want to prove their reputation of title contenders. Albania is a good chance for them to show their pure class and make a statement.

France and Switzerland will have to determine which team will finish on top in Group A of Euro 2016.

The hosts are currently leading the group with a full active of six points, although they’re not really convincing with their performance so far. France managed to beat Romania and Albania with late goals, but this luck is probably not always going to serve them. They need to better their performance, if they want to win the tournament.

Switzerland is currently at second place in the group with four points, after beating Albania and making a draw against Romania.

This game looks interesting, mainly because it’s curious to see how France is going to react to the hard critics Didier Deschamps’ team had to accept. The fans and the press are not satisfied with the team’s performance, so they will probably want to see something different against Switzerland.

Belgium and Hungary will have to determine which one of the two teams will advance to the 1/4-finals of Euro 2016.

Belgium is one of the strongest teams in the tournament and many people pick them as the biggest dark horse among the favourites to lift the trophy. On paper they have a brilliant squad, which can defeat any team on the continent, but it remains to see if they have the right mentality and preparation to do it. Many people think that this is the right moment for Hazard, Lukaku, Courtois and the other to shine and rewrite history.Hungary on the other side is one of the nice surprises of the tournament so far. They don’t qualify very often for big tournaments, so their advancement to the 1/8-finals was accepted as a surprise. Hungary don’t have any huge star players to name, but they have a good team chemistry, which is sometimes even more important than just having big names.

images (10)

Italy versus Spain is the big derby of the 1/8-finals of Euro 2016 in France. Four years after Spain humilated Italy with 4-0 in the final of the competition, now the Azzurri will seek a redemption.

Both teams finished their participation in the group phase with losses, but after they have already been qualified for the knockout phase. It’s still interesting to see how this will affect their managers’ decisions and how they’re going to pick their teams for the big clash.

Their performance in the group stage is absolutely similar – they won their first two games in the group, before losing the last one. Spain is the reigning champion of the continent, but it’s difficult to pick them as a favourite. The same could be said about Italy, too. There ain’t really any favourites in this game. We should expect a thrilling tactical battle between Antonio Conte and Vicente del Bosque, which are among the best and most successful managers in the competition.

images (10)

England is facing one of the biggest surprises in the tournament Iceland in the last 1/8-final game of Euro 2016.

The british team is living a new life under the guidance of their manager Roy Hodgson, who decided to refresh his squad after the last World Cup. Hodgson integrated a lot of young and unexperienced players in the team, which caused a serious improvement and brought new hunger in the Three Lions’ squad.

Iceland is one of the major surpries in the tournament so far. They’re debutants in a tournament of this rank, so they already achieved much more than many people expected from them. They’re a team with a great team spirit, so it would be a serious mistake by the british team if they underestimate them.

England are clearly the favourite to go through in the tournament, but Iceland are a charismatic team which could really bring a serious surpise in any given moment.

Poland and Portugal will battle for a place among the best four team in Euro 2016 in France.

The polish team qualified to the 1/4-finals after a dramatic win with penalties over Switzerland in the 1/8-finals, while Portugal crushed Croatia’s ambitions with a late Ricardo Quaresma goal in the extra time of the game.

Portugal’s way to the 1/4-finals is absolutely sensational. They still don’t have a win in the regular time of their four games in the tournament so far, but they’re now among the best eight teams in the competition. It’s difficult to say that they’re impressing anyone with their performance so far, including the captain Cristiano Ronaldo, but it’s a fact that they are still here and now they have a real chance to reach the semi-finals.

Poland on the other hand performed very well in the group stage and didn’t concede even one goal in their first three games, including against the world champion Germany.

images (10)

Wales are facing Belgium in the second 1/4-final of Euro 2016. Only one of these two teams will continue to the 1/2-finals of the competition and will proudly take place among the best four teams in Europe at the moment.

Wales reached the 1/4-finals after a fine performance in the group stage and a win over another british team in their first game from the knock-out phase – Northern Irealand. Gareth Bale is the big inspiration of Wales, so now their hopes will be directed towards him once again.

Belgium is one of the favourites to win the trophy. The manager Marc Wilmots can rely on some world class players in his squad. In their last game the Red Devils humilated Hungary and showed a true promise for something more in the competition.

Belgium is the clear favourite to go through, but Wales should not be underestimated.

images (10)

Germany versus Italy is the biggest game of the Euro 2016 1/4-finals.

The reigning world champions are facing the team which eliminated the reigning european champion in a high-profile clash, which is going to attract the attention of every football fan on the planet.

It’s safe to say that these are the teams which are performing in the most impressive way since the beginning of the championship. If they were not about to face each other in this phase of the tournament, there was a big chance to see them in a direct battle for the trophy.

This game is also a repeat of the Euro 2012 semi-final, when Italy beat Germany with 2-1 and progressed to the final, where they got humilated by Spain.

It’s the biggest game of Euro 2016 so far and many people think that the winner of this clash coud eventually lift the trophy in Paris.

images (10)

The hosts of the tournament France are facing the sensation Iceland in the last 1/4-final of the Euro 2016.

France are being regarded as one of the favourites to win the competition, although they are still not showing the football which their fans are expecting from them. They managed to accomplish a difficult win over Ireland in the last round, when we saw them having some serious troubles against the british team.

Iceland on the other hand is one of the major surprises of Euro 2016. They are debutants at a competition of this calibre, but they still managed to reach the 1/4-finals. Their win over England in the last round is their biggest football achievement of all times.

France is clearly the favourite to reach the 1/2-finals, but we thought the same about England, too. Didier Deschamps’ boys must pay full attention to Iceland, if they don’t want to follow England’s fate.

images (10)

Portugal are facing the sensation Wales in the fist 1/2-final of the Euro 2016 in France. One of these two teams will continue to the final and face the winner of the other 1/2-final between Germany and France.

Portugal reached the 1/2-finals without even one recorded win in the competition so far, which is really an interesting phenomenon. But even without winning, Portugal still finds a way to be effective in the tournament, which is an impressive thought.

Wales on the other hand is overperforming and surprising everyone with their achievement in the competition. This is a historical tournament for the Dragons, which are enjoying their best performance in history so far. Could they do even more?

This is a battle between Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, but also between their teams. Just on paper Portugal is the favourite to go through, but remember that it was the same case for Belgium as well.

images (10)
Germany versus France is the big derby of the Euro 2016 semi-finals.
Germany are the current world champions and the big favourite to lift the trophy in Paris, while France will try use the support of their fans in order to stop Joachim Low’s incredible team.
Both teams had a totally different experience during the quarter-finals. Germany had to go through penalties in order to eliminate Italy, while France didn’t face any problems against Iceland and offered an atractive show to their supporters.
Now it’s the moment of truth for Joachim Low and Didier Deschamps’ players. They are just one win away from participating in the final of the competition and losing in this phase of the tournament would be incredibly painful.
We are expecting to see one of the most interesting clashes since the start of Euro 2016. One of these two very good teams will celebrate, while the other will have to swallow the defeat.

It’s time for the big final. France and Portugal will determine which team will be crowned as the new champion of Europe.

The game at “Stade de France” will see the hosts of the tournament France aiming to win the european cup for a first time since 2000 and for a third time in their history. Didier Deschamps’ team eliminated the world champion Germany in the semi-finals, so now we should expect to see them perform with a boosted confidence in front of their own fans.

Portugal on the other hand reached the final of the competition with just one win in their six games – against Wales. It’s an interesting phenomenon, because it’s a real rarety to see a team with just one win to reach the final of a tournament of this calibre.

The battle between Antoine Griezmann and Cristiano Ronaldo will attract a lot of attention. Both of them scored during the semi-finals, so now they will try to repeat their good performance in the most important game of the competition.
